Hello World!

Welcome to my little slice domain of the web!

Honestly I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it yet, but now that I have it up and running I’m sure I’ll figure something out.

I’m a rather handy person though, so I think my first objective will be to try my best to document some of my recent projects in a way that might be useful, educational, or inspiring to others.

My life has been a bit… tumultuous the last few years. I’ve kind of been along for the ride wherever the wind happens to blow me, which has lead to some interesting and exciting adventures… but without a whole lot to show for it beyond my personal life experiences.

I’m not the type of person to back down from a challenge - or decline an interesting opportunity - which has allowed me to enjoy things that not many do.

I have a passion for traveling and consider myself to be somewhat of a “nomad” who is constantly looking for the next place to lay my head for a brief period of time before the wind blows and my attention is diverted elsewhere.

While my whimsical nature has opened numerous doors that I’ve happily run through, it has also left me with a random grab bag of experience and knowledge without providing much opportunity to specialize a skillset or trade, which is often a prerequisite for securing a well-paying job in a tough job market.

Ugh. Here I am simply talking about myself, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Vanity? Check.

Instead of continuing to word vomit, how about I start things off with a little list of the projects that I want to cover with my first little adventures back into the public eye of the world wide web:

  • Tried starting a podcast before my computer died
  • My new computer build - what, why, how
  • Setting up a home server and virtualization lab
  • Building a new desk and setting up a productive workspace
  • Setting up my web dev environment on Windows 10

I think that’s probably a good start. My main goals with this entire thing is primarily to solidify my permanent home on the internet, and to somehow find a way to provide something useful for whoever may stumble into my quant little home domain. The best time to start something new is in the moment.

Let’s see what we can do with 2019.

Cheers!
